Farewell to the Storks.  Да пабачэньне ўвесну.

In mid-August, wheeling higher and higher in the sky, storks come together in large flocks to begin their annual autumn migration to Egypt.  The storks normally depart around the time of the feast of the Transfiguration (Apple-Blessing Feast), August 19.  This is a poignant moment:  one knows these village companions for the past five months must depart; one hopes they will survive the arduous autumn journey and the arduous return the next spring.
