Many families in the Al’shany area of Central Polesia have more than four children and many, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Seven of eight of Ivan’s children are still living.  He has 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Landscapes of Belarus I.  Краявіды Беларусі (частка І). River Haryn’ 2010.  Рака Гарынь 2010 год. The Haryn’ is a major tributary of the Prypjats’ (Pripet), the main river of Polesia.  Like the other rivers of the region, the Haryn’ meanders widely and slowly through the flat marshlands and, as here, former marshlands of southern Belarus.
