Churches of Belarus (part CVIII):  Roman Catholic church of the Sacred Heart (1909), Il’lja 2015.  During the Soviet occupation the church was closed and, after the Second World War, turned into a milk factory.  The church was restored and re-consecrated in the early 1990’s. People throughout Belarus joyfully celebrate the August 19 Apple-Blessing feast (Jablychny Spas)/feast of the Transfiguration, one of the 12 great feasts in the Orthodox calendar.
