The Belarusian independent press has reported the sad news of the death of Protestant pastor Ernst Sabila (March 18, 1932 – February 5, 2022).
Persecuted by the occupying Soviet authorities for his Christian faith and Belarusian patriotism, Ernst Sabila spent 13 years in the Soviet GULAG. He was a pastor in the Belarusian Evangelical Church from 1988. It was an honor to meet him in 2007.

Прышлі сумныя навіны, што сёньня ня стала пастара беларускамоўнай Эвангельскай царквы й перакладчыка Новага Запавету й Псальмоў Эрнста Сабілы (18 сакавіка 1932 – 5 лютага 2022).
Савецкая ўлада пераследавала Эрнста Сабілу за свае веру й падтрымку беларускай нацыі й ён адбыў 13 гадоў у ГУЛАГу. Ён служыў пастарам Эвангельскай царквы з 1988 г. Я меў гонар пазнаёміцца з пастарам Сабілам у Асіповічах у 2007 г.
