Spring Cleaning, Sosny 2012.  Вясновая ўборка, Сосны (Любаньскі раён) 2012 год.

Streaming through the smoky copse, the mid-April sunlight caught my eye and tugged me to the side of the road.  As I photographed the shimmering light, a man in a leather jacket, accompanied by a hulking sidekick, approached and peremptorily asked who I was and why I would dare to photograph their spring cleaning.  The leather jacket reluctantly (“I’m the one asking questions…”) answered my return question who he was by identifying himself as the chairman of the village council.  I slowly persuaded him that I was neither a journalist looking for an expose nor an inspector, encouraged him to take delight in the light, handed him a Radzima Photo card, and invited him to look at the web site.
