Churches of Belarus (part XXXIX): Orthodox Church of St. George, Vardamichy 2013. Цэрквы Беларусі (частка ХХХІХ): царква сьвятога Юр’я, Вардамічы 2013 год.
Vardamichy lies in a historically sparsely populated area of east-central Belarus. From 1921 until 1939 the village lay in the Belarusian lands incorporated into the interwar Polish Republic on the border with the Belarusian lands under Bolshevik and subsequently Soviet rule. Even today along this former border zone east-west roads are scarce and villages like Vardamichy are tranquil, not-often-visited places.
The wrought-iron cross on the church cupola is a rare example of a many-pointed cross.
