Churches of Belarus (part LIX):  new church of the Resurrection, Tsjerablichy 2014.  Цэрквы Беларусі (частка LIX):  новая царква Ўваскрасеньня Хрыстова, Цераблічы 2014 год.

After its church of the Resurrection burned down in 1796, Tsjerablichy was included in the parish of the Holy Trinity in the neighboring village of Azdamichy.  Now, after an assiduous money-raising campaign throughout the village and surrounding parishes, Tsjerablichy has almost completed its new church of the Resurrection.  Villagers flocked to the building for the blessing of water on the eve of the January 19 feast of the Theophany (Baptism of Christ – Vadokhryshcha).

The pseudo-Russian style of the new church, including the use of gold onion domes, has nothing in common with the beautiful traditional local Polesian church style.  However, one could not help being moved by the eagerness with which Tsjerabljukians pressed into the still-unfinished interior on that cold January afternoon.  What matters is the strength of faith of the parish and the priest, and it is well to recall the words of St. Paul to the Corinthians (1 Cor. 3.16):  ‘Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?’

Царква Ўваскрашэньня Хрыстова ў Цераблічах згарэла ў 1796 г., і тады жыхары вёскі далучыліся, і перанеслі свае іконы, да прыходу Сьвятой Тройцы ў суседніх Аздамічах. Але за апошні год-два цераблюкі ўзяліся ды пабудавалі ў сваёй вёсцы новую царкву, асьвечаную зноў у гонар Ўваскрашэньня Хрыстова, і сёлета напярэдадні Вадохрышча прыйшлі туды на асьвячэньне вады.

І хаця вымушана псеўда-расейскі стыль новага будынку з яго залатымі цыбулінамі не мае нічога агульнага з традыцыйнай палескай царкоўнай архітэктурай, і нягледзячы на тое, што праца над унутраным аздабленьнем далёкая ад завяршэньня, цераблюкі запаўнялі свой новы храм з імпэтам, які не мог не кранаць.  Заўсёды здорава мець на ўвазе, што найважнейшае – гэта моц веры прыхажан і сьвятара, і ўзгадваць словы Сьвятога Паўла Карынфянам (Першае да Кар. 3.16): Хіба ня ведаеце, што вы храм Божы, і Дух Божы жыве ў вас?
