After the January 19 celebration of Vadokhryshcha (Orthodox feast of the Baptism of Christ – Theophany) the priest customarily walks through parish neighborhoods blessing parishioners’ homes with holy water and a cross drawn in chalk on the front door.  Roman Catholics follow the same custom after the analogous feast of the Epiphany on January 6.
