May is Marian Month in the Roman Catholic Church. In the traditionally strongly Catholic villages of the Nalibaki Wilderness parishioners pray the Rosary and sing hymns every May evening at the village Marian shrine. It was extraordinarily fortunate — truly a gift from God — to happen on these villagers in Jankavichy as they prayed: Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
