Photo of the Day for June 11, 2013

Presentation of Belarusian dresses from the turn of the 20th century, Janka Kupala State Literary Museum in Mjensk (part VI):  Ms. Anzhela.

Дэфіле беларускіх сукенак з канца 19-а й пачатку 20-а стагодзьдзяў у Дзяржаўным літаратурным музеі Янкі Купалы ў Менску (частка VI):  спадарыня Анжэла.

Museums in Mjensk joined sister museums from around the world by staying open the evening of June 18 to mark International Museum Day.  As part of its celebration the Janka Kupala Museum presented a display of copies of Belarusian fashions from the turn of the 20th century.  Six members of the museum staff modeled the collection that evening.  I would like to express my deepest appreciation to museum director Alena Lashkevich for making it possible to photograph the ladies re-modelling the dresses in daylight three days later.  A bow to the ladies for their grace, wit, and consummate presence.
