The Orthodox parish of Azdamichy-Tsjerablichy holds its annual name-day feast on the Tuesday after Trinity Sunday (the third day of Trinity), June 5 in 2012. A dozen or more priests from neighboring parishes and the Pinsk-Luninjets eparchate take part in this service along with Azdamichy’s parish priest Father Aljaksandr. Here one of the visiting priests circles the nave as he blesses the church. A birch branch hangs in the window. Placed throughout churches for Trinity, birch branches are a traditional Belarusian symbol of fertility and the life-giving power of the Holy Spirit.
