Pjatro is the vice-principal in the primary school in the next village. Valjantsina teaches biology in the local village school. Three years ago Pjatro had a miraculous recovery from what appeared to be a fatal illness. He and Valjantsina were married in their parish church in August 2010 (see photo for August 27, 2010). I asked to take their photo as the first in a series of family portraits in their and neighboring villages.
