Stoubtsy is another of many smaller Belarusian cities whose fine architectural patrimony suffered under the policy of destruction, degradation or deliberate neglect by the occupying Soviet regime from 1944-1991 and continues to suffer under the occupying neo-Soviet regime since 1994. Today’s photo is an example of how the degradation of the Soviet past and neo-Soviet present persists.
Nevertheless, the city retains both a number of worthy buildings and styles and a fine traditional sense of grace and dignity among its inhabitants.

Яшчэ сумны прыклад шматлікіх меншых беларускіх гарадоў, узорная спадчына якіх значна цярпела пад палітыкай зьнішчэньня, дэградацыі ці занядбаньня падчас акупацыі колькі савецкіх, столькі бягучых уладаў. Сёньняшні здымак адлюструе трывалую дэградацыю саўка ды неасаўка.
Нягледзячы на гэты лёс, Стоўбцы захоўваюць ня толькі вартую дойлідскую спадчыну, а таксама традыцыйную прывітальную зграбнасьць і годнасьць сярод жыхароў.
