Column in Honor of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth’s Constitution of May 3, 1791, Hlybokaje 2012. Калона ў гонар Канстытуцыі 3 траўня 1791 г., Глыбокае 2012 год.
Columns in honor of the enlightened Constitution of May 3, 1791, the first constitution in Europe and the second in the world after the U.S. Constitution, were put up in several places in the Belarusian lands. In the four years following the constitution’s proclamation Russia, Prussia and Austria carried out the second and third partitions of the remaining territories of the Commonwealth, erasing Poland from the map for 123 years but never erasing the memory of this great constitution.
