At the end of August churches throughout Belarus, both Roman Catholic and Orthodox, hold a blessing for pupils and the new school year, which begins September 1. In Azdamichy’s Orthodox church of the Holy Trinity, Father Aljaksandr carries out the blessing at the end of service for the feast of the Dormition, August 28.
