Churches of Belarus (part CDLXIV): former Cistercian monastery and church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (18th century).
As they did with so many other Roman Catholic churches and monasteries, the Russian imperial authorities closed the Cistercian monastery in 1864 and gave the church building to the Orthodox church. During the Soviet occupation of Belarus and until recently the authorities used the buildings as a factory. There are now plans to restore the complex as an arts and culture center.

У 1864 г. расейскія імперскія ўлады зачынілі манастыр і перадалі касьцёл праваслаўнай царквы. Падчас савецкай акупацыі Беларусі і пазьней — да нядаўных часоў — улада пераабсталявалі комплекс на фабрыку. Спадзяэмся, цто ініцыятыва аднавіць комплекс як творчую прастору дабіцца посьпеху.
