Feast of the Dormition, Rubjel’ 2012. Сьвяток Усьпеньня, Рубель 2012 год.
In the Orthodox liturgical calendar the feast of the Dormition is celebrated on August 28. However, the Orthodox parish of the central Polesian village of Rubjel’ celebrates the feast day on August 29, the date of the foundation in 1992 of its church of the Dormition. The vibrancy of the Rubjel’ parish is reflected in the fact that more than 20 Rubjel’tsy serve as priests throughout Belarus and in Ukraine.
