Three Generations/Тры пакаленьні
As part of my photographic work in Belarus I have been presenting a copy of national poet Ryhor Baradulin’s book of aphorisms “Навошта” (Navoshta — “What For?”) to everyone whose portrait appears in the book. One evening in August I found this grandfather, whose photo appears on p. 124 of the book, sitting on the family bench with his wife, son and daughter-in-law, and their three children after a full day’s work on their homestead.
