The parish of the Apostles Peter and Paul holds its Easter morning procession at 7 a.m. This year the parish was able to walk along Iuje’s main street and around the town square. Given the length of the route and the many hundreds who participated, the procession lasted 45 minutes, with the church’s bells pealing joyfully and continuously through the frigid early morning air.
The buildings on the left in the second photo are part of Iuje’s patrimony of brick buildings typical of Jewish commercial architecture in towns of the former Pale before World War II.
