One of the rewards of wandering the back roads of Belarus is stumbling on villages which preserve their traditional layout, texture and vernacular architecture. Ljabjady (Ljebjadzi), on the rail line connecting the district centers of Zel’va and Vaukavysk, is a classic example of such a village.
