Owing to different criteria for calculating the date of Easter (and thus the Easter-related movable feasts of Palm Sunday, Ascension and Pentecost), the dates only intermittently coincide for western churches on the one hand and Eastern Orthodox churches on the other. In 2017, as most recently in 2007, 2010, 2011 and 2014, the dates coincide.
