The craftsmanship of this well-tended house and yard attracted my attention. As I photographed various details, the owner Maryja and her helper came up to the fence to find out what kind of stranger had wandered into their village. Maryja spoke quietly and eloquently about her house and village in pure Tyrvovichy, a beautiful variation of Belarusian with elements close to Ukrainian.
