Belarus in Winter: Paruchyn (I/VII) 2016. Беларусь узімку: Паручын (I/VII) 2016 г.
The old village of Paruchyn is tucked into the northern edge of Baranavichy District in western Belarus. Never larger than 350 people, the village is now down to about 40 inhabitants. However, it is one of those Belarusian places which enchant the wanderer into wanting to walk in the shade of the tall trees lining the main street and chat with home owners as they finish their day’s work in the garden.
These first two photos show an outlying homestead (khutar – хутар) oak, and variegated tree line at the western edge of the village.
