Churches of Belarus (part CDLXXI): Orthodox church of the Assumption (after 1592).
This church, like its Roman Catholic neighbor across the market square, is oriented — unusually — to the south, rather than the east. The parish regrettably substituted the traditional and harmonious Belarusian Orthodox cupola with the alien gleaming onion dome seen here on the ground prior to being hoisted into position.
Цэрквы Беларусі (частка CDLXXI): царква Ўсьпеньня Прасьвятой Багародзіцы (пасьля 1592 г.).
Падобна на суседні касьцёл, царква арыентуецца — незвычайна — на поўдзень. Вельмі шкада, што ў 2015 г. прыход замяніў традыцыйную, зграбную беларускую галоўку на чужую блыскуцую цыбуліну, якая ў здымку чакала падніманьня на вежу.
