This is a rare example of fortress-type synagogue in Belarus. The walls are almost six feet (1.75 meters) thick.

The inscription on the scrim in the second photograph announces that the restoration of this key monument was included in the 2012-2018 program “Castles of Belarus”. Regrettably, to date only two outlying towers have been restored whie the main body of the palace moulders on.
