Orthodox Trinity Sunday (June 23 in 2013). Тройца.
In a tradition with deep pre-Christian roots, Orthodox Belarusans mark the feast of Trinity by spreading marsh reeds in the entryway and throughout their home as well as in front of their parish church and in the nave. In pre-Christian times this tradition celebrated the greening of spring. Now the tradition recalls that Christ’s first disciples were fishermen.
