One can consider Haradzishcha a key site connected to the development of the Belarusian nation. It would thus be natural to expect that the Belarusian authorities would long ago have ensured proper conservation of, and widespread, steady publicity about, the site. However, conservation, restoration work and news about the site owe much more to the efforts of local historians, enthusiasts and active citizen volunteers than to efforts by the authorities.
