Palm Sunday/Пальмовая нядзеля
Most years Western (Roman Catholic and Protestant) and Orthodox Easter fall on different Sundays owing to different methods of calculating the date. In 2010 Western and Orthodox Easter dates, and thus Palm Sunday, coincide, as they did in 2007. What Western churches call Palm Sunday the Orthodox churches in Belarus and nearby Slavic countries call Willow Sunday (Вербніца – Vjerbnitsa).
