Ash Wednesday (I/V), Church of the Mother of God of Budslau, Kamjennaja Horka (Mjensk) 2015.
I rarely photograph in Mjensk or other of Belarus’ large cities. However, having heard of the vibrancy and dedication of the parish of the Mother of God of Budslau, I decided to attend Ash Wednesday Mass there. Father Frants (Frantsishak) kindly invited me to photograph the service.
The parish, on a hill at the western edge of Mjensk, has existed since 1996. Parishioners use a temporary chapel, constructed in 2005, while they build their permanent church on the same hill.
Deepest thanks and appreciation to Father Frants and the parish for a light-filled, heartfelt and solemn reading of Matthew 6:1-6 and 16-18, imposition of ashes, and celebration of Mass.

Рэдка здымаю ў Менску ды іншых з большых гарадах Беларусі. Хаця калі чуў пра руплівасьць парафіі Маці Божай Будслаўскай і яе ксяндза, вырашыў прымаць удзел у сьвятой Імшы там з нагоды Папяльца. Ксёндз Франц (Францішак) запрасіў мяне здымаць Імшу.
Пашана да Кзяндза Франца ды парафіі за такое шчырае чытаньне Евангельля (паводле Мацьвея 6:1-6 і 16-18) ды такую поўную сьвятла ўрачыстасьць.
