This was a favorite springtime view until a new spasm of “amelioration” led to the construction of a dyke along the northern edge of Vjeras’nitsa (visible in the center of the first photo along the right-hand edge) and the annual flood seemed to be terminally blocked from this meadow. However, nature paid no attention to the dyke in 2018 and nutrient-rich flood waters once again pleasantly filled the space.
