Photo expedition to villages of Iuje District on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday: Dajlidy 2016. As is the case with many other villages in the northwestern districts of Belarus, Dajlidy is a Baltic toponym and the village has remained strongly Roman Catholic.

Two of the ladies who faithfully tend and improve the chapel: Stasja and Alina. They emerged from their houses to find out who this stranger taking photos was. Mrs. Alina noted she would attend the Easter morning mass in Iuje the next day. I responded that I would also be there and would look for her. She said she would hold me to my word.
