Grape-grower Mikalaj Amjal’chuk, Khorsk 2015. Вінаградар Мікалай Амяльчук, Хорск 2015 г.
Mikalaj Amjal’chuk has spent more than a decade quietly disproving conventional wisdom that Belarus is too far north for serious cultivation of grapes. He currently tends more than 70 vines, representing more than a score of grape varieties, on his half-acre property in the village of Khorsk in the central Pripet (Prypjats’ – Прыпяць) area of Belarusian Polesia.
