Autumn roads of Belarus: Ordzjevichy (Ardzjevichy) 2015. Does the toponym Ordzjevichy (Ardzjevichy) suggest a Tatar origin (from the Tatar/Turkic word ordu, meaning army, i.e., referring to Tatar soldiers invited by the Grand Duchy of Lithuania to guard its eastern flanks)? Like so many other villages in northern Belarus, Ardzjevichy has lost most of its population through movement to district and regional cities. However, the village retains timeless charm.
