It is unfathomable why anyone would wish to substitute glitzy, pseudo-Russian onion domes — a shape alien to the rich architectural tradition of wooden church architecture in Polesia — for the Veljamichy church’s graceful original domes, which were exceptionally rare examples of Polesian Baroque.
