Occulted by a legacy of Soviet street names and today’s relentless construction in a variety of indeterminable styles, the Belarusian nature of Belarus’ capital can be difficult to sense.
Not so on International Museum Night, when Belarusian museums join counterparts around the globe in staying open late. As in past years, Mjensk’s museums offered a variety of presentations, all in Belarusian. People thronged central Mjensk in a spontaneous, relaxed, happy manner as they waited in line, in some cases for more than an hour, to enter the museums.
