Homage to the Central Prypjats’ VI/Паклон Сярэдняй Прыпяці (частка VI)
The industrious, children-filled villages of Belarus’ central Prypjats’ region radiate vitality, prosperity, generosity and hope. The villagers ensure, as strongly as any other places I’ve ever visited, that their traditions — under unremitting pressure for the past century — thrive and are passed on to succeeding generations. Even the outsider feels that he is coming home when entering this region. A smile and a bow in gratitude to these villages and their inhabitants.
Працавітыя, поўныя дзяцей вёскі цэнтральнай Прыпяці сьвецяцца жыццём, дабрабытам, шчодрасьцю і надзеяй і адначасова клапоцяцца – так старанна, як у любым іншым месцы, куды я трапляў, і нягледзячы на зацятае супрацьстаяньне апошнага стагоддзя – пра росквіт сваіх традыцый і іх захаваньне наступнымі пакаленьнямі. Нават староньні чалавек адчувае сябе, як дома, калі прыяжджае ў гэтыя мясьціны. Усьмешка і паклон удзячнасьці гэтым вёскам ды іх жыхарам.

There is nothing this good-natured, hard-working couple cannot do in running a home. Diligently tending their hives, they carefully remove the wax seals of the honeycombs to open the cells. They then spin the frames in an ancient manual centrifuge to collect the honey (see also photos for October 1).
Не існуе гаспадарскай працы, з якой бы не ўправілася гэтая пара. Сёньня асьцярожна адкрываем важкія, напоўненыя залатым мёдам соты і клічам на дапамогу старую медагонку (гл. таксама фотаздымкі 1 кастрычніка). На вялікі жаль, фота не передае водару і смаку.
