It it always a pleasure to stop in Il’lja on the way to or from northern and northwestern districts of Belarus.  About 45 miles northwest of Mjensk, Il’lja is a pleasant town of 1450 people.  The Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant churches all merit a visit.
