The Prypjats’ (Pripet) River watershed experienced a relative lack of precipitation during the 2014-2015 winter. The consequent low level of flooding this spring will mean a lower level of natural replenishment of nutrients in the traditional Pripet Marsh flood plain.

Lost landscape patrimony: continuing construction of dykes means that many meadows and fields will no longer feel the primordial rhythm of the spring flood.
