Winter Work. Праца ўзімку.
People in the Central Prypjats’ area of Polesia never stop working. Indeed, the older they get the more determined they are to keep busy. With no work possible outside in the depths of winter, Granddad Pomcha, whom I know from church, is cutting up an old pair of jeans to sew pockets for the cucumber plant shoots which he will begin to force in his winter hothouse in a few weeks. His wife Eufrasin’nja knits steadily.
