Ahova, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) west of Pinsk, is renowned for its craftsmanship in painted wooden chests.  The building shown here — either a former school, other official building, or manor house — is an exceptionally well-maintained (or accurately restored) example of Polish-era functionalist architecture from around 1930, when this part of the Belarusian lands was included in the interwar Second Polish Republic.

Агова:  цудоўны прыклад функцыяналізму з польскіх часоў (каля 1930 г.), гэты будынак ці былая базавая школа, ці урадніцкая забудова, ці дом.

Churches of Belarus (part CLXXXVI):  Orthodox church of the Raising of the Holy Cross (1865), Brodnitsa.  This church was built during the re-imposition of Russian imperial order and ideology after the empire put down the rebellion of 1863-64.

Цэрквы Беларусі (частка CLXXXVI):  царква Ўзвышэньня Сьвятога Крыжа (1865 г.), Бродніца.

From Janau District I chose a secondary route toward Pinsk across the Pina River, and thus used the ferry across the Pina near Dubaj.  The ferry runs along guide wires and is winched ahead by the passengers using levers which hook onto the guide wires.
